2008 E-MOD RULES

IF IT DOESN’T SAY IT; YOU CAN’T DO IT.

YOU CAN RUN OUR RULES AS FOLLOWS OR SOGGY BOTTOMS E-MOD RULES (NO MIXING BETWEEN THE TWO)

 

                                               ROLL BARS
Must consist of continuous hoops not less than 1.666-inch outside diameter with a wall thickness of at least .095-inch low carbon mild steel tubing.
Must be frame mounted in at least 6 places. No brazing or soldering allowed. Must consist of a configuration of front and rear hoops connected by tubing on the sides or side hoops. Drivers head must not protrude outside of cage with helmet on and strapped in drivers seat. Must have a minimum of one cross bar in top halo of roil cage. Roll cage must be securely supported and braced. Protection of feet is mandatory. No brace bars forward of cage may be higher than hood height. Main cage no farther forward than engine plate.

                                                 DOOR BARS
A minimum of three driver side door bars, at least 1.5-inch O.D., must be as parallel with ground as possible and located perpendicular to driver so as to provide maximum protection for driver, but without causing difficulty getting into or out of car. The side bars must be welded to front and rear of roll cage members. Must have one 1.5 O.D. on passenger side of car. A steel door plate 18 gauge or .049 thickness steel must be securely welded outside drivers side door bars. Plate must cover area from top door bar to bottom door bar and from rear to five inches in front of seat. Must be visible for inspection.

                                                   SAFETY
Full face helmets are required. Must be Snell SA90, SA95 or SA2000. Roll bar padding is required in drivers compartment. SFI full fire suits are required. A 16"x20" driver side window net is required. Latch must be top front corner of net. Five point safety belt is required. Aluminum high back racing seat required. Bottom of seat may not be lower than bottom of frame rail. A kill switch is required, within reach of driver and clearly marked ON-OFF. A 360 degree drive shaft loop is required. Drive shaft must be painted white. A fully charged fire extinguisher must be securely mounted within reach of driver.

ELECTRONICS

No transmitting or listening devices allowed. No electronic or computer devices capable of storing or transmitting information except tachometers. No electronic traction control devices allowed. HEI distributors only.

                                                       EXHAUST
Headers are allowed. No 180 degree headers.

                                             FUEL SYSTEM
Racing fuel cells are required and must be enclosed in steel can. Must be securely mounted behind rear axles and between rear tires. Fuel cell caps and vents must have roll-over check valves. Pick-up must be on top of fuel cell. Fuel cell maximum capacity is 32 gallons. Fuel filter between cell and carburetor allowed. Must run Gasoline or Racing Fuel only. No nitrous oxide or performance enhancing additives allowed. Penalty will be loss of all points and a $500.00 fine. No fuel injection, no electric or belt driven fuel pumps

BATTERY

One 12-volt battery only. Must be securely mounted. All vehicles must be capable of self start.

                                                          WEIGHT
Minimum weight of car with driver after race will be 2600 pounds. NO TOLERANCE. All weights must be securely mounted and not in drivers compartment, with at least two 1/2 inch bolts, painted white, and with car number on it.

                                          WHEELS AND TIRES
8x15 inch steel wheels only, (no wide five wheels) May run bead lock.  No sipping, or grooving of tires. May run any DOT P235-60, P255-60 or P275-60 series tires only (No Hoosiers, McCrearys or any other made for racing tires).

                                                           FRAMES
No part of race car can be lower than 4 inches from ground (except front cross member and oil pan. Factory production 1960 or newer frames. No front clip or tube type allowed. Frames may toe cut in rear no further than 36 inches from center of rear end housing. 108 inch minimum wheelbase. No jeep, truck, or four wheel drive frames allowed. Frames may not be widened or narrowed. Maximum overall width front or rear shall not exceed 78 inches from outside of tire to outside of tire. No front wheel drive allowed.

                                              SUSPENSION AND STEERING
An UMP or IMCA legal Front suspension and steering must be unaltered OEM and a stock location. Stock passenger car spindles only. May not be altered. Outer tie rod end and sleeve may be replaced by a minimum .625 rod end and steel tube. Bottom a-frame may not be moved or altered. Upper a-frame mounts can be moved, and altered. Tube type upper a-frames are legal. No rack and pinion steering. Coil overs are allowed. Coil spring sliders on rear are o.k. Rear suspension can be 3 bar setup. Floater rear ends are legal. No center steering. Only one shock per wheel. Two solid adjustable lower trailing arms, Pull bar that may have rubber bushings, Pan hard bar is legal. Coil springs must be minimum of 4.5 inches. 

                                                              BRAKES
Disc brakes o.k. Must be OEM stock. Cockpit mounted brake bias device are legal. All four wheels must be working at inspection. NO FLOATING BRAKES. 

                                                               BODIES
Any UMP or IMCA legal bodies are o.k. 8 inch tall rear spoiler no wider than 66 inches Is LEGAL. Refer to body dimension sheet for more details. Driver and passenger window opening must be a minimum of 12 inches high.

                                                              ENGINE
May run Crate Engines or Cast iron OEM block only. No strokers allowed.
Open Chamber Heads only (no aftermarket heads) 72cc or above (absolutely no porting except pocket porting under valves)
IF YOU ARE FOUND ILLEGAL, YOU WILL LOSE ALL POINTS AND MONEY FOR THAT NIGHT.

Any aluminum or cast iron intake. NO porting or polishing. No Wilson or Brazinsky allowed. Valve  Size 1.94-1.50 for Chevy. Fords---no Ford "N" heads allowed--No vortec or bowtie heads--Valve size 1.84 intake 1.54 exhaust. .361 cubic inch limit on displacement  Roller Rockers Allowed. 1.6 allowed Flat top pistons only. May run Hydraulic or Solid lift cams (NO ROLLERS). Wet sump oil system only.

Legal Carburetors are, Holley 600 or any Quadra jet -- may run dual lines but no double pumpers allowed. Stock type fan. Electric radiator fans allowed-- must be stock.

                                                    DRIVE LINE
OEM manual 3 or 4 speed, or OEM automatic transmissions are the only ones legal. Automatics must run a working torque converter. NO DIRECT DRIVE. Manual transmissions must use OEM style clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel. NO ALUMINUM FLYWHEELS ALLOWED. NO DOUBLE OR TRIPLE DISC RACING CLUTCHES ALLOWED. ALL GEARS MUST BE IN WORKING ORDER. Manual transmissions must have explosion proof bell housing. NO EXCEPTIONS. MUST HAVE 1 INCH INSPECTION HOLE IN TOP OF BELLHOUSING.  NO EXCEPTIONS. Must have steel drive shaft, must be painted white.
NO AFTERMARKET TRANSMISSIONS.

                                      PROTEST

There will be no claims in this class. There will be a protest option. Only items that may be protested are: Engine rules and drive line rules. Protest must be made by driver that was in the feature to track official within 10 minutes of end of feature. A protest fee of $250 cash must be paid the track official. If car being protested is found illegal that driver loses all points and money won that night. $200 goes back to driver that files protest and track keeps $50 for tech fees. If driver that is being protested is found legal he gets $200 for his troubles and track keeps $50 for tech fee and driver that filed protest looses. A driver can only file a protest on the same driver once per year. $500 for complete engine teardown. PLEASE ABIDE BY THE RULES, THEY ARE MADE TO KEEP RACING CLOSE AND FAIR. DO NOT ABUSE THEM. LET'S KEEP THIS FUN.

TECHNICAL INSPECTORS DECISION IS FINAL
